Profiles

Vishwanath Saragadam

Principal Investigator

Vishwanath Saragadam is a tenure-track assistant professor in the ECE department at the University of California, Riverside, where he leads the Computational Optics and Displays Engineering (CODE Lab). His research interests are in the area of computational imaging, where he co-designs optical systems and algorithms to sense, represent, and infer from high-dimensional visual signals such as videos, hyperspectral images, and lightfields.

His research encompasses a broad set of disciplines including optics, meta-materials, algorithms, machine learning, and signal processing.


Calvin Glisson

PhD Student

Calvin is a Ph.D. student in Electrical & Computer Engineering at UC Riverside, advised by Dr. Vishwanath Saragadam and Dr. Ioannis Karamouzas. His research focuses on computational imaging, 3D reconstruction, and thermal imaging.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Calvin received his MS in Computer Science at CSU San Bernardino, where he did research in autonomous driving and computer vision.


Arnab Ghosh

PhD Student

Arnab is a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Riverside, where he is advised by Dr. Vishwanath Saragadam. His research spans Computational Imaging, Deep Optics, Deep Learning, and Hardware–Software Co-Design, with a focus on building next-generation imaging systems.

Previously, he earned an M.S. in Imaging Science from RIT and a B.E from Jadavpur University, and served as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer at L&T Technology Services.


Niki Nezakati

PhD Candidate

Niki is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of California, Riverside, advised by Dr. Vishwanath Saragadam and Dr. Amit K. Roy-Chowdhury. Her research focuses on computer vision, diffusion models, robust multimodal learning, and 3D reconstruction, with an emphasis on building reliable AI systems for real-world applications.

Prior to her doctoral studies, she received her B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.


Alper Kayabasi

PhD Candidate

Alper works on deep learning under limited data and beyond the reach of RGB sensors. His research addresses inverse problems in video restoration and video depth estimation, with a focus on implicit neural representations and self-supervised learning.
